My Unforgettable Purple Valentine

beautiful valentine love poems, joys of joel poems, my unforgettable purple valentine
My Unforgettable Purple Valentine – https://joysofjoel.wordpress.com/

Roses are red, but why am i still blue
even when you gave me flowers
on that memorable valentine’s dew?

The sweet memories that i still hold on to
long after that chocolate kisses
i received from you.

The rosy cheeks that showed some blush
after that red wine
that tasted like a childhood crush.

Looking forward to colorful years
when some wisdom
gave me these purple tears.

The red valentine that i anticipate for so long,
i know it won’t last
when the bands started their song.

Roses are red
violets are blue
Enticed by love’s appetite

Engulfed by its wings,
The promise it brings
Creating alibis

My unforgettable purple valentine.

It’s Valentines, So Where Are My Flowers – – https://joysofjoel.wordpress.com/

It’s valentines
so where are my flowers

It’s almost five
been waiting for hours

I called the florist
she said it was delivered

To whose address
i never bother to discover

A phone call
from my friendly neighbour’s sister

Inviting me
for a sweet valentine dinner

Home alone
because her sister went out for dinner

In a rush
after receiving beautiful valentine flowers

The Unwed Widow by Joel F

joys of joel poems, poem about war and love, poetry, quotes, short story
The Unwed Widow – https://joysofjoel.wordpress.com/

You hear the sound
like a screaming thunder
Inviting you to come closer

You listen to the pound
of your mind’s wonder
Refusing to hear the glaring speaker

You walked slowly
to open the window
Hearing rains like a crying widow

As you turn your back
and look at your pillow
Empty room full of sorrows

You stare at the marker
and look at the calendar
Counting summers you barely remember

Waiting for the news
that the war is over
Holding your ring to welcome your soldier.

Pointless

ponts of view, pointless, joys of joel musings, poetry, graphics, art
A Pointless Brilliant Mind if a Heart is not Polite

No need to shout to prove your clout.
Respect begets respect.

No need to interject who is the best,
to slash the wrist and still insist.

Amidst the ‘holler and all the tries,
it’s always better to be polite,

than show the might of a brilliant mind,
yet cut the ties that bind your life.

Bows and Arrows

bows and arrows, poetry about revenge, forgiveness, writings, musings
Your revenge is never complete until you forgive.

From the sudden plummet to the sound of the blanket
Covering woes , to hide your lost soul.
From a covered blanket to the sound of the trumpet
Withering foes, letting them crawl.

From the blast of the trumpet to the sound of the bells
Treachery shows, dignity sold.
From the chiming of the bells to the depth of the wells
Shuddering blows, bows and arrows.

From the depth of the wells to the muddy water.
Shooting the crows, bows and arrows.
From the drowning water to the wounded master
Serving the throne with a heart of stone.

From the vengeful master to the darkest dungeon
Offering rose with its hidden thorns.
From the deepest dungeon to the fiery dragon
Ravaging ground, Hatred abound.

From the fiery dragon to the hidden cavern
Sinking holes, tricked by the falls.
From the tricky cavern to the bloody casket
Galloping horse, cursed by remorse.

From the bloody casket to the rhythmic sonnet.
Closing the prose.  Eulogy goes.
