You hear the sound
like a screaming thunder
Inviting you to come closer
You listen to the pound
of your mind’s wonder
Refusing to hear the glaring speaker
You walked slowly
to open the window
Hearing rains like a crying widow
As you turn your back
and look at your pillow
Empty room full of sorrows
You stare at the marker
and look at the calendar
Counting summers you barely remember
Waiting for the news
that the war is over
Holding your ring to welcome your soldier.

Waiting for news of someone fighting away in some war , and praying they’ll make it back, is not a position any one wants to be in Touching the ring at the end was a nice touch. Very poignant.
