Slippery street to wisdom and knowledge
Quivering spirit seldom acknowledged
Beautiful orchids caged by deceit
Tricky bees fulfilling the cheat.
Drunken thrills of reverberating chills
Across the mountain of plume and red hills
Ignored by the birds hovering the cliff
Concealing the bondage like a furtive thief.
Fleeing from the seeds of blooms and poison.
Sweeping the leaves and pollens of reason.
Accepting repulsions of unspoken passion
Swinging pendulum of sullen destructions.
Wrapped by the light of willful surrender
Trapped by the might of a deceitful pretender
Enticed by the kiss of ignorance and bliss
Embraced by the bondage and its darkest abyss.

Aha, I know what you mean . 🙂
Reminds me of everywhere or should i say everyone? At one time in our life we are enslaved by something: vices, addictions, love, ambition, money, lust, desire, power, fame, whatever.
Thanks Tita Arlene for stopping by,
Happy Saturday.

We both know what that means…haha! I really wanted to write about something like this but I don’t know how to hide the words 🙂

Why do you need to hide the word?
No name dropping anyway. hehe
I’m looking forward to your writings.
Yours is always an inspirational one. This time it might be different. 🙂

Omg, if you thread that path this time, be prepared for a wild party, not always a good one though. 🙂

You are maturing into a really good “magician with words”. The sounds and concepts tumble along so naturally – yet expressively – in this poem.

I had sort of noticed, but without thinking about it. I guess as I follow your posts regularly, I can say you’re getting good at also recognizing what really stands out among your past creations 🙂

I have been the victim of love and obsession.. which became quite addictive quickly…
and I also have experienced the world 🌎 of deception ..
Great 👍 poetry.. I relate so well..

Even though you say this was written and posted a year ago, it is a timeless piece that is relevant to today. A dark but profound topic that is well-expressed in the poem. Applauding Joel! 👏🏻👏🏻

Our lives can be overcome with the negative forces in life. Sometimes love shifts and also hurts us. Thank you for this poetic expression of this process. Bondage in many ways drags us all down.
