Just Friends

just friends, quote about fake relationships, joys of joel poems
Just Friends – https://joysofjoel.wordpress.com/

Joining our table and wrecking havoc on our plans.  Denial of her affair with a younger man. “We’re just friends.” Raising eyebrows when you see them fighting in a dark flyover like robbers fighting for their share.

A few steps and quick glances.  Assumption of friendship going beyond.  No limits but voluntary borders and fake compromises,  one can really tell.  Oh, how love can play disguises in so many ways.

Free act like a stage drama being acted out in a play.  Stolen glances, forced kisses like a crumpled paper about to be thrown away.

So we hear but we did not listen as the sound was explicitly given.  Time to leave and pretend that we believe they were just friends.

A wink in his smile when he said he’s just a text away.  Perhaps a tinge of truth for him , but a painful lie for her. Keeping his number is an option. After all, they’re just friends.

The Falling Teacup

fiction, murder, poetry, life, love, crimes of passion

Bruise that persists
you hold the cup in your fist
spitting the poison
in disguise as a kiss.

Forsaken emotions
like a potent potion
escaping delusions
atrocious devotion.

The falling of the teacup
as the sound of a hiccup
alarms like a warm up
to the ultimate wrap up.

Killing with a bullet
the pills on her goblet
unsure if it’s coming
burying the hatchet.

Pleading and begging
keep on beating
pulling the trigger
while he is screaming.

The demons that you unleashed
acting like a beast
no trace beneath
that you were a priest.

Asking forgiveness
they will never witness
vicious and fearless
the unforgiving mistress.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Santa Claus is Coming to Town, joys of joel poems, best christmas gift ever
Santa Claus is Coming to Town – https://joysofjoel.wordpress.com/

“Those who believe are always rewarded with the truth”  santa used to say.

Even at middle age, santa makes me stay. This time not for the toys or the candies on the mistletoe. But on looking forward to the things that make me smile.

The yuletide music that whispers on my ears,  the small precious tokens i received from my peers. The call from a friend just to say hello, asking what the hell i’ve been doing since that last hello.

Yes, i’m no longer a kid , although my mom always say “grow up and be responsible’.. ..I’ve learned that Santa Claus exists so better be accountable.

Through all the christmas yesteryears and those santa’s yuletide gifts. I know i never have to wait for Christmas.

My family is Santa’s Lifetime Gift.  And i received it long time ago even  before Santa Claus came to town.
