Don’t Wait For Me, Ours Is Not A love Story (A Poem about Narcissism) – https://joysofjoel.wordpress.com/

I was invited to your castle
with my dreams and battles

I walked through the rooms
the chandelier and its moon

Flashing bulbs
and scorching lights

I see the garden
in your hidden basement

Paper roses
seeds of illusion

Artificial flowers
in your unlocked drawers

Scented worms
a crown of thorns

Fleeting music
not for long

I won’t be singing
your song

I walk away
and end your play

Don’t ask me why
you won’t be free

Don’t wait for me
Ours is not a love story.

Here Comes The Rain Again

poem about alzheimer's disease, joys of joel poems, what is alzheimers
Here Comes The Rain Again – A Poem about Alzheimers by Joel F.– https://joysofjoel.wordpress.com

A few lines on
a not so forgotten song

A dripping sound
made me open the windows of my home

Although it’s familiar
how could i not know

Every now and then
its rhythm keeps knocking on my door

I’m  drench but i’m not wet
got a roof above my head

I see flowers now celebrating
dancing for all the waiting

To quench their thirst
after hibernating

When sunshine sleeps
and started dreaming

But songs of yesteryear
always linger

When raindrops fall
like a hurried summer

And through it all
i still remember

The broken pen
and the unwritten letter

Unspoken words
and tears of yonder

Embrace by an old friend
Here comes the rain again.

Snowing Summertime

Snowing Summertime, depression, joys of poems, poetry, photography
Snowing Summertime – – https://joysofjoel.wordpress.com

Into each life some snow must fall
coldness in one’s soul.

The blizzard
that blow you away

when you see the black snow
that is very rare.

The white snowflakes
that surround

the sunflowers
that were drowned.

Flying butterflies
on wintertime

confuses you
why they’re in town.

You look around
and was astound

summer flowers
are all abound.

You look again
in the window pane

you see the snow
and feel the pain.

Tricks of the mind
or you’re too blind

that flowers bloom
come summertime.

You received a call
and say hello

invited by a friend
this summer weekend.

Surprised to hear
and shocked to know

that winter’s gone
you barely know.

You realized
it’s summer now

but can’t resist
the buts and hows.

For all the things
you question why

it’s snowing
in summertime.
