Choices – https://joysofjoel.wordpress.com/

The hallway of darkness
will eventually lead you
to the light
but still,
it depends
on the door you take
and the battles you fight

Choices

How confusing
when darkness sets in.

Decisions

How blinding
when you see the light from a far.

Perceptions

How bizarre
when your heart is at war.

  1. Oh Joel so much Talent here as usual. It is sometimes hard even when one makes some choices, to follow through to the end helas. Ever heard of the saying ‘the night is longest just before the break of dawn’. Imagine how sleep is usually just when you have to get up? I love this poem of yours

    1. Yes, that is such a truthful line. Line is longest before the dawn. Thank you for sharing that Marie.

Thanks too for stopping and dropping some kind words. I appreciate it.

      Have a lovely weekend Marie.

    1. Thanks PD for sharing your beautiful thought.

Yes, the journey no matter where it leads to will always give us light. We learned from our experiences, good or bad, and that lesson will serves as the light (our guide) to our next journey.

I believe that light is always around us, it is within us and CAN BE US.

Sometimes we are not aware that we serve as the light or a candle to other people during their darkest hour.

Have a lovely weekend PD. Thanks for dropping by.

  2. I’ve been following you for a couple of years now, and you’re definitely on a growing curve as a poet, so I’m surprised this is from 2015: it’s very sophisticated in both form and message.

    1. Thank you Isadora for sharing that inspiring quote. That is very true just as the saying goes:

“Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise.”

and tomorrow will be a bright sunshiny day.

Have a beautiful sunshine week ahead. Thanks for stopping by.
