Dungeness Crab

Dan Ritchie Dungeness Crab Strolling in Maffeo Sutton Park in what the locals call “The Waterfront,” I saw a huge crab near the bay.

Take a look, touch  it and sit on top of it!  It was  a catchy art installation named “Dungeness Crab”  by Nanaimo Artist Dan Ritchie .

The 3.9 by 3 meter creation was carved from a single red cedar tree, coated with fiberglass. It was among the several artworks being installed on the waterfront for Public Art Week that runs from may 5 to 11. Lucky Me! I was there during the Art Week.
